I LOVE Bargains!

For some of you that don't know me, I am truly a bargain shopper. I live for garage sales, clearance sales, etc. From about October to April are boring months for me, because people do not have garage sales! Watch out when warm weather gets here, because you can find me at garage sales. It is something my mom and I truly enjoy. I find so many toys and clothes for Trevor and Kelsye. James (my hubby) sometimes thinks I am crazy, but I think he realizes how much money I save us by going to garage sales. I also love shopping online and finding stuff on clearance. Kids grow out of clothes so fast, and I can always resell the clothes and toys so that is why I enjoy it. I have also got addicted to craigslist.com. You can advertise stuff to sell, or buy stuff. I have advertised several things on there and sold them with no trouble. James thought we wouldn't have a chance selling our new john deere mower on craiglist when we moved. I posted it on Thursday, and it was sold Thursday night-he should never doubt me! Ha ha! The reason I am writing this post is because I am VERY proud of my bargain I recently purchased. Since we moved, I have been looking for the kids a wooden swing set. I found the kind I wanted with a tree house, and everything priced the lumber, the accessories and everything and it was kind of out of our price range, so I began looking for a bargain. I looked on craigslist, there was one on there for $300.00, but it was already sold. So, I made a few phone calls, and found that a family wanted to get rid of theirs. It was a wooden swing set, with a tree house, and slide. We would have to buy accessories for it, and haul it off. Guess what----they only wanted 50.00 for it. So we are going to get that, I have ordered accessories which were a little over 100.00, and now all we have to get is some plastic, pea gravel, and landscape timbers to put around the outside of it! I am so proud! James couldn't believe it-see he should never doubt me! I will have to post pictures of the finished product once we get it done! Now, I am on the search for an outside little tikes playhouse for Kelsye. Anyone have one that want to sell? Ha ha! I will leave you with some pictures I took yesterday of my pretty spring flowers-Speaking of Spring-what happened to the pretty weather?

Just Another Monday!

Well Monday morning brought going back to work. I hate Monday's! It seems like nothing goes quite like you want it to. I sometimes wonder if everyone has those type of Monday's. This morning was Kelsye's first morning to go to daycare since Tuesday. I have kept her home since she had the flu. Getting her up and ready at 6 a.m. always seems to be a struggle. Trevor stayed all night at the grandparents and going shopping today, so I did not have to get him up-he is usually okay to get up, sometimes he gives me trouble but not usually. My alarm was set for 5:30 but I didnt make it up until 6, and then layed around trying to decide if I should go to work (I feel kind of icky-don't know whether it is the flu or what). I finally decided since this is going to be a busy week at work, I better at least attempt to make it in! I got Kelsye ready and off we went. She cried a little at daycare-she is a mommy's girl that is for sure. I love it though-well sometimes! Anyways, I had to stop and get gas and then headed to work. I am here now, and have made it halfway through, but still looking forward to 3:30. I get to babysit my little neice, Bella, tonight. She is such a little riot! I will run to the store and get something for supper, then go pick her up, and then Kelsye. Should be an interesting evening. Kelsye and Bella play good together, but are complete opposites.

I have homework to do also-but that can wait until Tuesday night. I am almost halfway done with my Bachelor's in Management degree. It seems like I have been in school forever. I guess I really have, but it is all worth it in the end-or that is what everyone tells me. I also need to get Trevor's birthday invites done this week and mailed out. He wants a bowling party so that is April 18th, and I have to get Kelsye's invites printed-she wanted a Dora party! Sometimes my life seems hectic, but I am glad to be blessed with what I have. I will leave you with some pictures of Bella and Kelsye playing at my house the other day. Have a good Monday-I kind of like this blogging thing!

Getting Started Again!

Okay- I am going to try this whole blogging thing again. I love the blogs I read, and would really like to get my own going. It seems like with work, college, being a wife and a mommy, there is no time to blog, but I want to change that-starting now! This past week has brought nothing to us, except the FLU BUG. Kelsye woke up Wednesday morning throwing up and has continued this until today. I have disinfected everything from top to bottom and now I do not feel so great and neither does Trevor. This week starts his Spring Break so hopefully he is not sick for that.
I am glad it is almost April-both my babies were born in April. Trevor will be 7 on April 15th, and Kelsye will be 2 on April 25th. It is hard to believe how fast time flies, but I am enjoying every minute of it. I am sure I will have lots to post about with the birthday parties, and baseball starting for Trevor. Well I will leave you with a couple pictures. Hope you all enjoy!

New to This

Hi everybody! I am new to this whole blogging thing, however after reading several blogs, I decided to give it a try.

For those of you that do not know me, my name is Kristin (Laughlin) Riggins. I have lived in Odon all my life, graduated with the class of 2001 from North Daviess. I then attended and graduated from VU in 2002, with a Medical Clerk Certification....not long after I graduated from VU, James and I welcomed our first child....Trevor James (now 6) into the world. The following October, James and I tied the knot. We will be married for 5 years this fall and couldnt be happier. I have worked at Crane for the past 5 years, while James works for Graber Post. While working at Crane, I have completed my Associates Degree in Business, and now recently started working on my Bachelor's degree in management. When Trevor was 4 we decided that we wanted to give him a little brother or sister, and sure enough we welcomed Kelsye Jae into the world on April 25th, 2007. Trevor and Kelsye are 5 years and 10 days apart. Unless something suprising happens, we only plan to have these two. They are a handful that is for sure. We couldnt ask for anything more.........we are truly blessed!
